long shot, has any one got any details on the testing requirements of dry risers-bs9990?
cheers
It's not changed much from the old BS5306 days & is as follows:

"Inlets, landing valves, drain valves, door hinges and locking arrangements to the inlet and landing valve boxes should be inspected every six months. Special attention should be given to all valves, spindles, glands and washers to ensure that they are in satisfactory condition, so that all equipment is ready for immediate use.
In addition, it is recommended that wet tests be carried out annually when the main can be checked for leaks."

99% of sites just have the annual inspection & wet test, which seems to satisfy the enforcement authority.

Most testers either use an old fire engine, specially converted van with water tank and pump and a few naughty ones just take a light portable pump and crack into a hydrant.
The site can offer customized certificates for dry and wet risers should you need them.... anything extra you need adding on can be done for you
