He did go onto say there is no reason why you can't do the monthly test though.

Who works for FIA and British standard he did agree about third party for annual test

As far as I have always known, user does the monthly test and IIRC outside trained firm done a test every six months, then it changed to yearly.

It has been third party for years.

How many minutes would the user monthly test for?

Yearly test 3 hours?

Functional test, long enough to walk round all EL on that test switch. 30 seconds?

We installed " self test " luminares on a site, flashing red light meant a fail. deep discharge it and it would pass next visit.
