Extinguishers on camp sites.
#1
Ive got a site that is going to be putting up 50 tent pitches within its grounds as a tented village. These are permanent concrete pads where framed tents are being put up for the summer months to house upto 8 kids. Client needs fire points with extinguishers and Im going to fit a rotary hand bell at every point. Are there and regs regarding tents ? Cant seem to find any reference to it.

o heeeeyyy yyaaaaaaaa *flicks limp wrist*

How camp is the site?

---- Or. You can buy self contained alarm boxes that house a fire extinguisher etc that the alarm goes of as soon as open the lid. I think they can also be interconnected these days. No professional experience in these, but I go camping a lot and have seen them a few places

<- These are the ones and can come with a built in alarm

It’s more for open air events, but does cover campsites in some areas

Biggrin  Which is the newer? The DCLG stuff is so old you have to take it with a pinch of salt.

The FIA guide follows the old model standards for caravan sites but adds some sensible modernisation recommendations.

It drops the old spec for static caravans which from memory was a 3lb or 5lb powder in the caravan with a two gallon water outside it. Many sites put the powder in the caravan, but I've only once ever seen a site where some of the caravans did have their own water extinguisher. Interestingly the Forestry Commission does still follow this at their holiday sites where each cabin has a Powder inside and a 9litre water in a cabinet outside the front door in addition to all the 2 x 9 litre water & alarm cabinets all over the site.

Does anyone sell purpose built fire points ? I mean whole panel that I can concrete into the ground. Need 6 of them pronto, and there is no time to make them up.

The main trade suppliers of construction fire safety products sell things like this:
https://www.fmcfire.co.uk/construction-site-stand/
http://www.foresiteplus.com/firepoints

That you could adapt rather than start from scratch - I think Howler make the above ones.
