Help... my panel is beeping!

Just had a call from someone with the above ailment...


Me: We would be happy to come and look at this for you. You would need to take out a standard service agreement and we will look into the any faults on the system during the first service which we should be able to organise quite quickly for you.

Them: We don't need a maintenance contract., we just need the system to stop beeping.

Me: Unfortunately, you do need to have your system serviced. However, we can come out as a non-contract one off call out, but it will be more cost effective for you to take out a service agreement, as we charge a 4 hour minimum for non-contract call outs and you would have to pay this in advance of attendance.

Them: OK, I'll think about it and call you back.

Am I missing something here or was I supposed to do it for nothing?  Huh

Surely you should have offered to pay them for the privilege of touching their equipment.......

I will think about it = I am going to ring round the houses and get it as cheap as possible
