Hi, I've been told that some panels have a built in delay to avoid false alarms on the sprinklers.
I have no idea if this is true or not!

Some panels allow you to select sprinkler as an input type. Depends on which panel though

As standard a zone will go instantly into fire

So unless someone has set up the delay (if it's possible on that panel  ..... ?)

Trigger it and find out !!  Money Money Money

A lot of addressable panels you can program an input with a delay to stop false alarms done it a few times

The could be an old thorn /again Sprinkler delay module fitted on the zone. Look for a white single gang box. These were normally fitted by the sprinkler itself.

From memory these had a adjustable delay on a small PCB.

Doesn't the flow switch have a small delay anyway?

as Micklou says, there may be a delay set on the sprinkler flow switch.

Most flow switches have a circular turny thing that can be adjusted to set the preferred delay.
