Fire Alarm Panel Location
#1
Hi Guys,

Its been awhile since I worked for myself doing fire alarm systems I been working as electrician most times last 2 years and need to refresh my knowledge with the current Regs.

At moment I am doing minor repairs on fire alarm system in  small restaurant .

The fire Alarm panel is located in Cupboard in the kitchen very far from main Entrance .

The restaurant is in ground floor and main entrance is in middle of front wall which is Glass and whole restaurant customer dining area and Bar can be seen   from outside pavement

The fire alarm system is not monitored by RAC .

I am de-commissioning the system and will issue certificate  before I do so

Does the fire alarm panel need to be relocated to main entrance ??

appreciate your help

23.2 Recommendations
23.2.1 The following recommendations are applicable to the siting of CIE.
a) Indicating equipment, in conjunction with suitable manual control facilities, should be sited at an
appropriate location for both staff and firefighters responding to a fire signal, such that controls
can be readily operated and indications are readily visible. This should normally comprise an
area on the ground floor close to the entrance to the building likely to be used by the fire and
rescue service, or a suitably sited, continuously manned control room from which at least initial
control of any fire incident, by staff and/or the fire and rescue service, will be implemented
