Advanced - Config ram fail
#1
Anyone know what causes it? Iv got an MX4200 that's less than 2 years old. I serviced it about a week ago, this morning it went into fault with a Config Ram Fail. I rebooted the panel and the fault has not come back touch wood. Cheers.

Happens now and again and the warm start is the solution - not sure why tbh

Hi Dan,

This is typically caused by someone making configuration changes via the Level 3 menus whilst the memory lock jumper is in the "Locked" position, then exiting Level 3. The panel attempts to write the new data to the RAM but is unable to, a config fail message is then generated to bring the issue to your attention, a reboot will clear this but any alterations would be lost and in need of re-doing, a typical example would be the recent influx of Service Due faults.

I was going to say same thing if the Engineer had just been working on the system but didn't realise of could happen a while after.

Influx of service date faults ?  I cant say I noticed any here :)
