Advanced loop card failure Mx5 Pro
#1
Iv had two call out this year to two completely separate sites, both have Mx5 Pro and are fairly new. Both suffered a blown loop card. I checked the loop wiring for short circuits, earth faults etc but I could never find a cause. I replaced the failed loop cards on both jobs and both panels have sat happy since. I just find it a bit bizarre that I was never able to find a cause. On both loop cards it's what looks to be the relay for the loop isolator that's melted. Anyone had something similar?

I must say that for the amount of panels we sell we have very few sales of individual loop cards, so I wouldn't say it was too common.

What current is each loop pulling?

The loop could be picking up a spike from somewhere
