Ziton ZP3 Panel Change
#1
Hi Guys

Lovely weather we are having! Hit 38 degrees on the car dashboard in Leeds.

I have a site with a ZP3, the panel died this afternoon, tried everything I could think of to get it back up and running but it looks like it is completely goosed. Not found a cause for it either. I have made a few calls and managed to purchase a brand new ZP3, should be arriving on Monday. As you may know I don't have a great deal of experience with Ziton, I only have a couple of sites with them and this is the first time I have had an issue with one. My question is I do have an up to date site file, luckily I only amended some text in this panel in May. If I swap out the panel like for like, will it be just as straight forward as uploading my recent site file into the replacement panel?

Thanks, have a good weekend guys.
Dan

You'll need to adjust the firmware version and panel type. so say yours was a version 1 panel, just amend it to a 3.12 (assuming yours is brand new) and make sure the panel type is amended too. Also you will need to change the comms to the correct setting in peripheral settings (11 I think without a panel in front of me) And the node address if on a network. Other than that yeah pretty easy.

Before you start, download the panel, and take a copy of the folder and save it somewhere else, docs etc, so you have a spare. If the software crashes you can loose the site file.
Version 2 to 3, as above, quite easy. May have to check a version 1 to 3 upload as somethings are slightly different, and have a run through the cause and effects to make sure the same.

And as Kilbeth says, protocol version 11, set baud rate in peripherals.

Thanks Doug. I'm hoping the old panel is a V2, think it was fitted at around 2008 when the building was built. Will let you know if I run into any problems.

Think current version is 3.12 as swapped one the other day, although sure I did a 3.14 last year.
If there is a double knock cause and effect set up, be a little careful.
If you set the panel to zonal double knock it does not bring the panel into fire on the fire activation, only an"alarm" condition.
Found this a bit troubling but tech say that's the way their software guys are interpretating the last EN54 stuff.
