Gent 8000
We have been asked by an Electrical Contractor can we add 2 optical to a system are they obsolete or can they still be sourced.

May be able to source through engineers or flea bay, but few and far between me thinks

Thanks Doug , might be safer and commercially better to advise customer system is obselete , you start off trying to do a favour then end up with egg on your face . The fact that we are being asked to sort it out leads me to think it has,nt been maintained for a number of years and probably has problems.

Best option by far, any addition needing newer kit will be a panel upgrade as a minimun.

was it not the 8000 that had loads of problems?
Never worked on one but got a feeling it never really got off the ground fully?

u need software and a dongle etc to use these panels, obsolete in the uk by gent, but available by esser in germany. good luck. you will need to find a gent agent with the dongle aswell.
