I do a lot of supply and commission and on a number of occassions on a conventional system they have wired the zones as a loop leaving both ends of the cable in the panel install the EOL and the zone is monitored. Who who said we could,nt learn from a spark.

had a similar thing with 5 sounder cables going back to panel and all into same circuit. 5 resistors of lower value were used at each eol sounder totalling the correct eol value for panel and each circuit was monitored.

lol - have had to do that myself with four sounder circuits coming back into a two output panel.
